Week One

A question that was being investigated during out first week was, "what does your dream classroom look like?". Unfortunately, I did not realize we were to take pictures of our dream classroom, so I will just describe what I drew. I had screens on all four walls so that no matter where a student is sitting, they would be able to see the screen. I also had big windows for natural lighting. A big thing to note about my dream classroom is that I had big tables for the students to sit at instead of single desks. I like the tables because it makes socializing and group work much easier. I made the students' chairs purple because that is my favorite color. I also will have alternative seating for students who need something different.

To investigate this question we went around the class and had everyone share their dream classroom. This was helpful because we can take different ideas from other people's dream classrooms and use them for our future classroom.

Something that I figured out was attributes that I want for my future classroom from other people sharing theirs. Something that I want to add after seeing other peoples' dream classrooms would be a calm down corner and maybe a small class pet.

A question I have would be about having a class pet and the different rules regarding that.

  1. Hi Taryn! I really like the idea of having screens on all walls. It is frustrating not having a seat close to the board/screen and definitely impacts my learning. I also included alternative seating for my students, giving them the option of a rug or a bean bag chair.
